Dancewear
Total Dance provides a comprehensive range of Dancewear and Dance Shoes for the Dancer and Dance Teacher. Classic ballet dancewear uniforms consist of a dance leotard, a skirt, a pair of tights and soft ballet shoes, possibly with a cardigan. We stock a full range of both classic and romantic Tutus as well as Catsuits, jazz pants, legwear and other dancewear. We also have headbands, belts, ribbons and dance bags which are all popular dancewear accessories or dance gifts.
Dance Shoes
Dance shoes for ballet, jazz and tap are ever popular, but the success of recent BBC TV series “Strictly come dancing”, has meant that the market for ballroom shoes and dance shoes in general, has revived and demand is growing for Character dance shoes used for Ceroc, Tango and Salsa dancing. Ballet Shoes
Children new to ballet will start with a pair of soft leather ballet shoes. Very often satin ballet shoes are required for examinations. Older dancers or those at college often require split sole ballet shoes, while Pointe shoes are worn from about the age of 12 on the recommendation of the teacher.
Tap Shoes
Tap dancing classes and tap shoes have become increasingly popular for adults as well as children in recent years. Children start dancing with low heel tap shoes, these shoes are fitted with a toe tap and either an “AJK” or “Teletone” heel tap, if required. Oxford and Cuban heel tap shoes are popular styles. Tap dance sneakers are popular Jazz tap shoes.
Jazz Shoes
Jazz shoes are worn as stage shoes and for various types of dance. Beginners will often chose full sole jazz shoes in black or white, with leather uppers. More experienced dancers will often choose split sole jazz shoes supplied in either leather or modern synthetic stretch materials. Jazz dance sneakers are a popular alternative.
